Mckinlay Shire Council contracted Durack Civil to reconstruct a large TMR culvert approximately 30 km north of Julia Creek.
Scope:
The works involved demolishing an existing culvert structure, subgrade preparation, concrete base slab construction, culvert landing, headwall construction, concrete batter protection, insitu stabilisation, pavement construction, bulk earthworks and 2 coat seal.
Challenges:
A tight timeframe and extreme weather posed a number of challenges for the work crew who managed to program the works effectively and meet key milestone dates.
